The Folk Group and Research The Ventolin was created in 1978 in response to the need in our town to found an association devoted to the preservation, promotion and dissemination of traditional folklore, especially among the young.
The Group consists of about 48 people who dedicate their free time to learning, study and dissemination of the dances, songs and traditional games, even creating in Pola de Siero an atmosphere of respect and appreciation of what folklore means, leaving concepts surface and holidays from something as serious as is our popular culture.
The Ventolin is named after a god or be agile movement that appear in our traditional mythology. It was adopted by the group as this is a mail and air character feelings and intuitions. Our aim, like The Ventolin (Asturian language meaning “swirl”), be mailing our tradition and carry it wherever we act or we are.
